HR-10B

Ken,
It may well be the radio was designed for the common 110 vac of the 1950s
that has changed into 120 vac in the 1980s.

I have seen the ac voltage supplied to my home creep up over the past 30
years; it used to be 110 to 115 now it is more likely 120 to 125 and has
gone as high as 135 when the utility is trying to push maximum power through
the wires for air conditioning season. I get this data from the utilities
own high-low recording meter on the pole at my property.

You might try using a variac or a filament transformer connected to buck
(reduce) some voltage and see if the HR10 performs differently, check the
older Handbooks for how to connect the transformers if you don't already
know).
