SB-101 Mike Jack

Hi David,

If you look closely at the front of the connector, you'll see the pin
numbers on the black pin housing. The pin on the right is pin 1 and is the
mic audio input. Obviously, the left pin is number 2 and is the PTT line.

The SB-101 input is hi-z. An unamplified D-104 crystal element wants
to "see" several megohms of load resistance for a full-bodied sound. Loads
less than a meg will attenuate the low frequencies and reduce the level.
Check your schematic to determine if there is a high enough resistance at
the mic jack. An amplified D-104 should have no problem, just keep the
gain low to prevent overload of the mic preamp.

Bob - W3CD
