Hw-101 sidetone

  In my HW-101 the sidetone oscillator provides
a CONSTANT low level tone in the speaker when the
mode switch is placed in the CW position, I checked all
the bias voltages and they are correct but  for some
reason the sidetone amp apparently isn't completely
cutoff when the key is up. This makes CW operation
poor at best. Is this problem present in all these rigs?
 I have this unit working beautifully, this is the last
thorn in the side to take care of, any suggestions?
