Interfacing RX Audio to HO-10

A friend is trying to hook up an HO-10 to his HW-101 for monitoring RX
signals. The book says to hook into the IF BUT the IF of the HW101 is
3.395 and the HO-10 is looking for a 455 kHz IF. Any suggestions other
than running the RX audio into the vertical input??
