dial slippage

i know this question has been asked here before, but I cant remember for

sure what the general concensus was for fixing the problem....
I have an sb 100.  when I turn the tuning knob, the dial mechanism
slips,
especially at faster speeds.  Is this the problem where I take the large
knob
off, loosen the nut on the tuning shaft and push it up a little to get
more
friction and then retighten the knob?
