Astron power supply

Ray -

If your Astron has, as I suspect, a linear regulator you will need a
transformer with a bit more overhead; like 18 volts.  With a 14 volt
transformer the regulator probably would not be able to maintain
regulation at anything more than half load.  Take a close look at the
specs on that crispy critter.
