Well there is another solution to this spam problem, one that gives me great
delight.  It is a program called MailWasher.  It is shareware and is
available for downloading at:

www.mailwasher.net

What this program does is allow you to preview messages on your server
without downloading.  You can delete them off the server if they are of now
interest.  You can also select certain messages to bounce back to the sender
which then appears as if they have sent their spam message to a non-existent
address.  At the same time, it puts that address in your blacklist.

I take great delight in sending back messages about low interest rates on
home loans, snooping software, viagra, special elixirs that cause a certain
part of your anatomy to grow, dish satellite receivers and on and on.

One word of caution.  Some ISP mail settings do not allow a message to
bounce.  MailWasher has a debug method to allow you to capture the message
from the ISP so that it can be sent on to the publishers of MailWasher so
they can attempt to develop a work around to assist you in bouncing.

Now, you can spam the spammers with their own spam.  HOW SWEET IT IS!
