HW 8 Frequency Tracking?

Got one a last month ago and fixed the plate shedding problem
on the VFO. Works fine as far as I can tell but the tracking
leaves much to be desired. What should I expect?

@ Ø its dead on; @ 250 it's 263 or so, a tad high. Is that
normal or is there a trick to alignment for better linear operation?
I could bend the stator plates some but hate to start that process.
The HG 10B VFO's  were similar but always was able to get them
tweaked to an acceptable linearity.
