Monitor Fixed - Off Topic

Thanks to all who replied.  The problem was a "bad" solder joint on a
resistor near the brightness control.  The kind where the component wire is
surrounded by a mini doughnut of solder on the pad.  Must have taken time
for things to oxidize and quit working.

A touch of new solder and presto chango, normal looking joint and the
monitor is now operating as it should.

Still hunting for CRT test adapter(s) though.
