Heising Choke

I built a 160 meter mobile transmitter that used Heising modulation back in the
late 50's or early 60's. Seems like it was a Handbook or maybe a QST project.
It used a 6AQ5 final amplifier and a 6AQ5 modulator tube. I believe the
Heising choke was nothing more than a common speaker transformer that had a
8 or 10,000 ohm center tapped primary. The secondary was not used - just the
primary. Several of us around Flint, Pontiac and Detroit, Mich. built these and
they seemed to work fairly well, despite the lower power.
