811A tubes in SB-200

Typically you can use 529B's in place of 811s but not the other way
around.  The plate voltage
and current would "blow" the 811s to heck.  I had the same question you
did when I got my
sb 200 and had extra 811s in the shack.    The good thing about 529b
tubes is that in amps
that use four 811s, like the Collins 30L-1, you can replace the four 811
tubes with two
529b tubes...    The 529b tubes then just loaf along but put out the
same power as the four 811
tubes...
