Vacuum cleaner rotating brush drive belts work pretty well.

There is a store here in town called Lubbock Gasket. They have just
about every size O-ring from microscopic to lariat size. They sell to
automotive, electric motor shops, cotton gins, industrial, etc. I bet
Grainger Inc., the big industrial supplier, has O-rings. They will sell
to anyone with money. Think like a cotton gin equipment manufacturer or
an automotive air conditioning rebuilder, and you will find an O-ring
nirvana in your neighborhood.

The trick is to get a size that tractions OK but doesn’t put too much
side pressure on those cap bearings. Real tight tunes good but in the
long run could pull the bearings off center, short the caps, blow up the
radio, cause operator to lose hair.
