More SB-101 Help?

Neil -

I like rubber bands (gum bands if you're from Pittsburgh) for some
applications.  If the adjustment is not critical, OK.  The only thing is,
they tend to dry out and crumble.  If you have a problem with the unit
and have to readjust that slug a few years later, you just may end up
removing the slug and replacing the rubber band AGAIN.

Besides, the rubber band might make the slug too tight and may push the
paper coil form out of round.  I've seen the forms rip at the top getting
the slug started.  It's so easy to warm the beeswax and touch up the
adjustment and not worry about these things.  The thing probably had
beeswax in it to begin with if it's a B.A.
