Many thanks for all the replies in my search for a gift S-38

My profuse thanks to everyone from both lists who responded to my serach
for a Hallicrafters S-38 receiver as a gift for a good friend of mine.
 Particular thanks to John Phillips, a list member from Arkansas who
went out of his way to provide a very nice, clean, all original, and
nicely operating S-38 (the original 6 tube variety).   The radio arrived
here on last Friday and  I tried it out ... it worked like a champ -
picking up a considerable number of SW BC stations using only my finger
as an antenna. I delivered it to my friend on Sunday (today) who, as I
was leaving, was getting ready to put it on the air and get it all
polished up with a considerable amount of gusto.  He was delighted.

Again thanks to a great bunch of guys for helping make this happen.
