My HW-104 produces 100 watts output key down on CW with the CW gain control fully clockwise.
However, on SSB, with the mic gain at 12:00, I am getting 175 watts output on voice peaks. If I reduce the mic gain, it will fall to between 150 - 175 watts on peaks but then falls off drastically to nothing very quickly if I reduce the mic gain any further. I don't believe this high output is good for the PA on this rig.
While on SSB with this high output everyone says I sound good with good audio characteristics. I would prefer to run 100 watts on peaks as the rig was designed to run.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, Jim N8AUG
P.S. I do not have any manuals.....yet.
