D104 Question

I have a D104 that is being used with a Heath SB401.
What do I have to do to get the D104 to work in VOX?
I also have a Shure #450 and have it hooked to a Drake TR4CW and I need the
same question answered for that combo.
I know the mikes needs to be modified because my Kenwood MC50 works in VOX
with a Kenwood TS180S but not the Sure or the D104 work VOX on that radio.
I can only use them in PTT on the Kenwood.
