What does SA stand for

       SA = Surge Absorber

I found nothing in the ARRL Handbook about surge
absorbers--  I wonder if they're the same as the
Metal-Oxide Varistor Transient Suppressors listed in page
24.12 (of my 2001 edition).

I've decided not to bother fixing the multimeter--  I saw
when I opened the case that there'd be complicated
disassembly involved, taking up my time far in excess of
the value of a multimeter!
