Dan, aluminum oxide, especially the 'thick fuzzy stuff' in that kind of
situation, is really obnoxious to disassemble. You knew that. ;<)
Given that the antenna elements aren't all that robust I'd suggest
trying a penetrant before resorting to heat or force.
The best penetrant I know of is Kroil, from Kano Labs. It's far better
than WD-40 or Liquid Wrench or any other I've tried. Apply it liberally
and frequently, over several days or more. Rigging up a way to immerse
the joint would be even better.

will last you maybe two lifetimes but the stuff is like money - you can
use it everywhere. Their mail order service is reliable.
