SB-301 and SB-610 question

The manual says that for frequencies up to 1 khz, use at 12 pf., for 1.6
khz to 2.5 khz, use 2.2 pf. and for frequencies above 3 khz, use 1.0
pf. You can use more capicatance if the deflection is too low, however,
the receiver IF may need retuning because of the loading.

The manual also says that for IF's above 3 khz, it may be necessary to
connect a 15k ohm, 1 watt resistor from lug 1 to lug 2 of coil L1. Then
you will need to readjust L1 and L2 in the 610, and the receiver IF.

As for "alignment" of the SB-610 IF amp, I just peak the top and bottom coil slugs for max signal display. Also, I recall that for the 3395 IF frequency, there is another coil in the SB-610 that needs to be peaked. Not sure as I don't have the manual in front of me. In short, all (SB-300/301/102 etc.) have enough drive to "fill the screen" on the scope. You may have an amplifier problem in the scope. Weak tube, low voltage etc. Those scopes work very well in that application.
