But don't you need a VTVM for measuring grid voltage, AVC lines, etc.? - the
VOM will load things down too much. I always use my VTVM when aligning a
receiver, for example.
Test equipment has got to be one of the best hamfest bargains going. An HP 410B
or 410C can be found for not much and good old Heath VTVMs are practically
free.
