Oscilloscope Recommendations

I may be shouted down here <grin>.... but I'm not aware of any Heathkit
scope to really recommend.

Generally, you should look for a scope that has 3-4 times the bandwidth of
the highest frequency you ever intend to study.  I wouldn't go under a 100
MHz scope at minimum.  Perhaps some of the later Heath scopes had enough
headroom... but the ones I've been trying to "give" away are generally 15
MHz and under.  A good utility scope that one can still do lots with... but
better for audio servicing.  If you lived near Wisconsin I have a nice EU-70
15 Mhz Heath scope I'd give you free....
