SB 200 question

Ray, I saw Gareys comments to your question and he described it well. One additional thing to consider is that the resistor string feeding the meter could be drifting or out of spec. My SB220 started reading low plate voltage. Luckily it wasn't a power supply problem, but instead one of the several megohm resistors in the meter voltage divider was seriously out of tolerance, throwing the voltage divider off big time. Doesn't take much error on a several megohm resistor to throw a voltage reading off big time.

I don't own an SB200 but I believe its similar to the Collins 30L-1, and I get around 1900 volts on the plate, and I also use 220 VAC. When wired properly, the transformer outputs the same high voltage voltage regardless of the 120 vac or 220 vac input voltage. Sounds like your SB200 is working great.

The SB200 sure is a nice looking amp. Hope to get one someday.
