HP-20 Schematic

A great many of the schematics and manuals on BAMA are
not even in JPEG but are in GIF. JPEG gives much
better resolution in general than the GIF format.
Ken, K4XL, used to use GIF because the files were
smaller. However, GIF "blows up" the size of the page
rather than giving the higher resolution that is
needed for a good printing. Although Ken requested
scanning at 300 dpi, the GIF format converted the file
to 72 dpi but increased the size of the page
considerably.

For example, a "normal" 8.5 x 11 inch page scanned at
300 dpi in JPEG may "convert" to 72 dpi at 34 x 44
inch in the GIF format. Then, when you bring it back
down, the 72 dpi usually stays the same but the page
size comes down to 8.5 x 11. Thus, you loose over 75%
of the resolution when trying to print the page.

This Circuitarchive site has lots of good schematics
on it but they too are in JPG format. What am I doing
wrong trying to print these schematics?
