Watch out leaving alkalines "unmonitored " for a long time. I've had
recent damage from Rayovac and Eveready Alkalines.
 One instance had been about a year, the other 3-4 years (in a meter).
Hate to see a nice piece of test gear with battery leakage crud in it.
