Heathkit GH-17A Soldering Iron

Yes, replacement 6 volt heaters are rare - but they appear in the oddest
places.  GE appears to have stopped having replacement tip in the early
1990s ... I think one of the upstate NY GE plants (Syracuse?) made the last
ones or that is where the parts warehouse was.

As I walked the flea market Chicago 6-meter FM hamfest (June) in Wheaton, IL
I spotted a group of 5 GE tips bundles in a junk box of parts on ground at a
table $ 1 each or best offer.

I sold my GH-17A and these tips to Gary H. Harmon, Jr. -- K5JWK in July
2004.
