Transformer oil (the old stuff anyway) was laced with PCBs. I am not sure 
about the newer replacement oil in use today.

Check with your local power company -- they may even give you some for free. 
Ask to speak to the maintenance foreman.

Anyway,  it smells *awful*

Stick with the Jimmy Carter stuff.
