Signal on 28.635 MHz

Hello Glen;

I'm sure this is not the problem!  However, many years ago when a bunch
of people 
in Okla. City were on Six meter AM.  One of our members reported a
carrier, much as 
you describe,  on the Club frequency.  This was before repeaters.  50.250
Mhz as I recall.
This went on for about 2 weeks as I recall.  We had a transmitter hunt to
find the source 
of the carrier.  And we found it!!!   HIS OWN GRID DIP METER ON THE WORK 
BENCH IN THE SHACK.  
You never know.
