Removing datak type press-on letters

I have done this using pieces of masking tape. I
apply it and then use something like the back of a
comb to burnish it. I quickly zip the tape off and
the press-on letters ususlly come with it. Sometimes
you have to repeat the prodedure two or three times to
get it all. If some type of protective coating was
applied over the letters then all bets are off!
