RE HW-101 CARRIER NULL

Wow. Can't believe all the response. Thanks everybody. I did not explain myself  very well. I do know where the adjustments are located, I am pressing the PTT switch etc etc. I did not understand where the carrier was coming from with the mic gain turned off. I am using the HN-31 cantenna, SB-614 scope and an external watt meter. I had left the watt meter on the 500 watt setting (it has full output on the other tests) and could not see any movement. I have now put the meter on the 5 watt setting and am able to do the adjustment. On LSB there is no movement of the meter, and on USB there is barely perceptible movement. (and I have very good eyesight) I think it is good enough. As Columbus said when standing an egg on end "It's simple when someone has shown you how". While on the subject of HW-101, I see where people refer to it as "hot water 101" I thought it was "hot-watter" meaning lots of power. Which is correct?
