3-500 filiments

I would check the spec sheet from the manufacturer about this.  Many if not most of the larger transmitting tubes should not have filiment voltage applied without B+ for very long.  I don't know about the small tubes such as 3-500 but as you note they are getting really expensive and should be treated nice.  Jim
