SB-401

Has anyone experienced problems with the SB-401 frequency spot function  
putting out a weak signal? You really have to strain to hear it. I am  having 
difficulty isolating the problem. Suggestion? (I realize this is not a  problem 
when running in transceive mode with the SB-301 but would like to fix  the 
problem).
