SB-301, SB-401 Power Cable

I would like to ask for the opinions of the HeathList members about changing the power cord on the SB series equipment. I am restoring an SB-301 and SB-401 combination and occasionally get a nip of voltage when I get between the SB and the test equipment chassis. Is it acceptable to change the two prong appliance plug to a three lug grounded plug? What would be the best way to do that?
