Suggestions on repairing Heathkit 2.305 MHz IF transformers

The cores are probably already cracked.  That is why
they won't turn.  Use a large needle, dental tool,
etc., and carefully chip away the core.  If you look
down into the coil using a flashlight you will almost
certainly see where the core is cracked.
