Suggestions on repairing Heathkit 2.305 MHz IF transformers

Thank you to all that replied to my request.

Glen was correct, the cores did not turn because they were cracked.

I used a tiny bit of tuner spray as a lubricant on the cores
that are OK.  The cores will come right out of the IF transformers if one is
careful. I can take two bad IF transformers and use two good cores to make a
functional one.


I'll be looking for some junker radios  for some replacement cores; I've
turned one of the rigs into a parts radio for now.
