Best I can tell from some measurements and observations is that the 6HF8 is 
bad, so I've ordered a new one and a couple of 6EA8s to boot.  Meanwhile, 
I've repainted the rig black wrinkle, added minimal dry transfer lettering 
and replaced the edge meter with a vintage Harvey Wells  2 1/2 inch 
milliameter and it really looks nice.  Looks like a real piece of equipment!
