Heath Manuals and SS-9000 Control software

Slight possibility exist that Simon, HB9DRV could support it with his Ham
Radio Deluxe Program. Then remote control would be trivial as HRD has a
server function that works VERY well. Simon has been using it to control my
TS-2000 located in California from Switzerland. We are currently using Skype
for the audio but he is exploring adding audio support. But seeing how few
SS-9000 there are - I wouldn't hold my breath.

Other possibilities would be (if you did write a control program) using
Windows Remote Desktop that is built into XPpro (and supposedly can be added
to W2K and others EXCEPT XPhome) or GoToMyPC.com (for a fee) to control the
host computer at the station, and Skype for the audio. I have been using the
combination of GoToMyPC and Skype for about 2 years now to control 2 remote
stations and 2 additional remote receivers/scanners with very good results.

I downloaded all of the SS-9000 pdf files plus printed off the relevant
pages of the manual for the computer interface. Now any interested and
computer literate sort can probably put together a computer program (I
think Visual Basic might be good choice) to interface to the SS-9000.
Not a complete answer to the inquiry for SS-9000 control software but a
start. I think that the software supplied with the SS-9000 would be so
obsolete as to be pretty much unusable (unless you had a H-89, of course).
