Mike,
Don't overlook a _judicious_ application of that wonderful stuff, WD-40, to the switch bushings. It sometimes can get into places that even light machine oil cannot. (Just test the can pressure a few times first to get the feel before applying; I always think the factory over-pressurizes the can.)
