And miss the fun of trying to do what has not been done
before? ;-)

Seriously, I am cataloging all of the positives and the
negatives of the project prior to making a decision.

Here are the variables that have been suggested, but *not*
confirmed, as insurmountable:

1. In 100W plate-modulated AM mode the HP-23b PS may not be
able to handle the duty cycle. (Perhaps a non-major mod to
the HP-23b, or the use of a different PS, can overcome this.)

2. At least one air variable may need to be replaced with one
providing larger spacing. (Unsure of adequate real estate.)

3. The final coil inductance requirements may vary between AB1
and Class-C. (Unconfirmed. Unknown if this can be overcome.)

NOTE: One possibility I have not considered is a permanent mod
of the HW-100 to carrier-suppressed DSB, which I believe will
allow me to also make a permanent mod to Class-C, true? This
would have a minimal impact on the continued us of the HW-100
as a carrier-suppressed voice & CW transceiver in addition to
plate modulated AM. WDYT?

In any case I am learning a great deal via this exercise and
thoroughly enjoy the intellectual interaction with my fellow Hams!
