Fw: [heathkit-yahoo] Heath HW-100 Plate Modulation Mod

Yea, I can relate to a lack of time.
You want to run in hard class C for the plate modulated final, just like in
CW.
As someone said, the plate voltage may be a little high for AM, so maybe get
another HP-23 and run it from a variac. I expect the tube ratings are still
in the handbook, although I haven't looked in ages. Someone will have them
if you don't. I'd just look at the bypass cap. There's no reason for the
choke to be a problem. Yes, the plate tuning cap could be a problem, but
you can't tell without trying it. Run the rig in CW, with the modulator in
series with the B+ from the second supply. When you get the level set with
a scope, you'll be on the air.

Tell us about the modulator. Stand alone mods are pretty rare!

Where do you live?
Wilson
