I can tell, "Doc" is having a good time with this!!  We are all waiting for  some enterprizing youngster to come up with a switching power supply for either  the    DX-100 or Viking 1 and 2 that will reduce the weight below "critical" for the hernia succeptable crowd (of which I am a member). Silicon diodes and modern big capacitors can develop required voltages  directly off the AC line.  There are modern transformer cores that would make a light weight modulation transformer of the 50 watt size practical but the weight of the original chassis and cabinet still put the transmitter into the "back strain" category.

I have a big burly son that moves my heavy stuff around and I love him for it ........ 73, Gordon.
