SB-200

A Buddy of mine KB0KGB has the following probles.

   I could never get the SB 200 to work on the yeasu and so hooked it up to the 718 and it works the first time but when you release the mic button it seems like there is a osc somewhere and the receiver hears it.  Also I notice that if I hit the mic button but don't speak into the mic there is output . Something like a AM or FM signal.  I had it hooked up to the monitor.  I can turn the 200 off and then on and will work the first time and then the same thing happens.  Got any ideas??
