Time to build DX-100, SB-100, HW-100?

yeah Right.... I built two... I was 15 or 16 yrs old at the time... Like
I can remember that far back... HI HI HI

Seriously, seems like it took a few days, but seems like it wasn't over
a week or so. Don't remember if I spent a lot of time every day on it
or not.

The second one I don't remember at all. One thing I remember is that we
couldn't get it to work on 15 meters. I finally figured it out that the
160 meter portion and the 80m and 40 m and such of the driver coil, when
shorted out to leave coil enough for 15 meters, was like an absorption
wave meter. It absorbed the RF and the drive to the finals was not high
enough to drive the tubes. So I scratched about four or five turns of
the 160 meter coil and soldered them together to short them out. The
drive was sufficient then. Back then, not many people were on 160
meters and we didn't use it on that band. Seems like it still worked on
160 however.

That was around 1955 or 56.....

Building it was fun. I'd like to do it again.... GL and 73's. Bob
