HX-10 Power Transformer

Steve. I am not aware of any issues with them. I have a working, and
very nice condition HX-10, that is my primary backup HF rig, and it is
as reliable as they get. A real workhorse of a transmitter. I bought
it as one which was used, and supposed to be in good working
condition, minus the tank circuit cover and fan. It sat for a year,
or more, before I found the right parts, and once I did, and reformed
the caps in it, with the old 100 watt lightbulb in the power cable
trick, it worked quite nicely, and is a piece I thought (at one time)
I wanted to sell, but now I definitely want to keep. I think if you
find a good working one, you'll be quite pleased with it, and keep it
for a long time. The only problem I have with mine, is pretty typical
of most older tube type radios, and that is it drifts a bit, until
things are well warmed up. I tends to take around an hour or more to
stabilize. It doesn't drift badly, like an old Swan or Tempo will, but
there is a noticeable drift, that requires that you follow it around
for the first hour or more. Otherwise, I can't think of anything
negative to say about the Marauder.
