HX-10 Power Transformer

Steve, I built two of these units back in 1962-4. Very nice unit. I did have 
a problem with the power transformer. It appeared to have some short that 
caused the filament in the 5R4 to burnout. After my supply started to run 
short I replaced the 5R4 with a solid state replacement. Never had any 
addition problems.

I've been thinking that I want to acquire an HX-10 so I've been watching for 
them on eBay to see what the market price would be and I've noticed a couple 
of them for sale with their power transformers removed.  Was there a chronic 
problem with HX-10 power transformers?  Anything else I should know about 
this transmitter before I attempt to buy one?
