SB-102 - more troubles

Those impossible to remember, endlessly archane button punching schemes
needed to program a modern rig make me appreciate all the more the "one knob
does one thing" simplicity of my SB-102. It tunes close enough to make
skeds and nets; if they're there I can fine tune when net control gives the
preamble. Most times, no one mentions anything, except for that one yahoo
on every net who says, "You are 1.97 Hertz (or some such silly number) off
freq." and he'd tell WWV that too!

It also helps us old timers to remember that that's why the rigs had big
knobs on them ... so we would have something to twist and turn. That was
part of the excitement of the old rigs back then .. HI HI.

and some of the construction techniques and operational methods are
different today.
