VTVM Probes

I have the probe provided by Heathkit for my VTVM. The probe has a slide
switch on it with a 1 megaohm carbon halfwatt resistor used to measure +/-
DC voltage. To measure AC/OHMS the slide switch shorts out the 1 meg
resistor and connects to a .01 mfd, 1600 vdc paper capacitor internally.
The HV cable looks like shielded audio cable about a quarter inch thick. The
shield is grounded at the phono plug. It has a black ,equal length, ground
wire with alligator clip attached. It is different than a regular audio
plug. It has about 3/8" of insulation between the center conductor and
ground.sleeve. I unscrewed the mono phone plug.and looking on the ground
side of the plug where wiring is soldered, it has an engraving: :
"SWITCHCRAFT, Chicago" .......no model number. Dana Cobb - K1RQ Bradenton,
