SB-401 SB-303 Transceive

Do you have the cable between the receiver and transmitter for muting? If so, are you putting the receiver in the standby position when receiving? When the mute cable is connected the ground for putting the receiver is connected and thus activates the receiver. When you go to transmit this ground is removed and the receiver mutes. But, when the receiver is in the receive/operate position this ground bypasses the control from the transmitter.

I am hoping that someone can shed some light on a problem I have with the SB-401 and SB-303 combination. The rigs work fine as seperate units but in transceive I get audio feedback through the speaker. It will disappear when the mike is disconnected or mic gain is turned down. The transmitter can be in transceive or even stanby with the same problem.occurring. As I said the units work fine seperately with great audio reports but I want them to work in transceive. I am not one to jump into alignment unless it is necessary and this does seem to come from somewhere else. Since the audio from the mic is always hot I could switch it off but I would like to make them work as designed. Any hints or ideas would be absolutely greatly appreciated.
