When will I ever learn? (SB-101)

When I start with an old radio (Heathkit mainly) the first things that I do
is clean all contacts and controls as well as pull all tubes and test them
on my tube tester to weed out any obvious bad tubes. I then use contact
cleaner on the tubes and sockets while reinserting the tubes. I also loosten
and retighten all screws and nuts since many are used for ground paths. More
times than not this brings the radio back to life.

The full manual and schematic, 17 mb in size, is available for download at
www.ebaman.com. You must create a free account. To find the files go to
"files area", "search repository", then type in SB-101. The full manual is
available in PDF format.
