SB-610 questions

Hi Sandy,

I replaced all of the fixed resistors in an SB-610 several years ago.
It's been too long for me to be of any help in advising you about which
resistors to change with regard to the specific problems you mention.

A couple of thoughts . . . .

I used metal film resistors for the replacements, got them from either
Mouser or DigiKey.

For the most part, I doubled the wattage as compared to what was in the
original Heath design. I measured the values of the carbon composition
resistors as I removed them and found many had drifted out of tolerance,
a few were way off. They had drifted higher in value as I recall.

Some of the resistors are in relatively high voltage circuits. While it
is not usually an issue, resistors have voltage ratings. It would be
well to pay attention to those ratings in the higher voltage circuits.

Good luck.
