[Heath] RX HR-1680 muting problem?

Hello!
 
I have a HR-1680 receiver with muting problem. 
 
When the mute jack is shorted it´s a big hum in the speaker and the supply
voltage of the receiver drops from 13 to 5 volts. 
 
It has been working before.
 
Any suggestions?
